Explorer of the Seas Grellis

Cruise Wollongong

Following the successful 2018/19 season, planning is now well underway for the Cruise Ship visits for 2019/2020 season.

On Monday the 11th February, Wollongong welcomed the Royal Caribbean’s Explorer of the Seas Cruise ship to town for a day visit. She brought with her over 5000 passengers and crew who were welcomed to Wollongong at the Arts Precinct with a Welcome to Country by Gumaraa Cultural Experience, a Makers Market and entertainment throughout the day.

Our friendly team of Ambassadors were again positioned at various locations around the city to welcome and assist the passengers and they did an amazing job and received positive feedback from the passengers!

We’d like to thank our event partners for making the day a success; Illawarra Retirement Trust (IRT), Wollongong City Council, Westpac, Rotary Wollongong, Cancer Council, Wollongong Golf Club, Illawarra Performing Arts Centre and TAFE Illawarra.

If you are interested in being an Ambassador for future Cruise visits, please contact Jessica Worldon – Cruise Project Co-ordinator.

We look forward to a fantastic season ahead.
